US travel: Updated Covid rules explained as tests dropped for fully vaccinated visitors

British holidaymakers can travel to the USA without taking a Covid- 19 test before departure as the country is set to lift testing rules from Sunday.
The US Government is to lift pre-departure testing conditions for transnational callers to the United States, an elderly White House functionary told journalists on Friday. This change will come into effect after a night on 12 June.
Trip assiduity leaders have long campaigned for this demand to be dropped. It has been in place for all transnational advents aged two or over since January 2021 – the US restarted to UK excursionists in November 2021. Callers have been needed to show a negative PCR or rapid-fire antigen test effect taken no further than one day before the trip before boarding their flight in order to enter the country.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reportedly decided that the tests are no longer necessary. It's to review the policy again in three months.
