Portugal – Third Most Kid-Friendly Destination in the World, Says Data

Airport Parking Reservations shared conducted research across the nations to find the world’s most child-friendly destination based on many child-friendly components.
The criterion for this included the percentage of hotels that had family rooms, sourced mainly from Booking.com. This is a safety index where you can find an overall child-friendly travel score assigned to each country.

The analysis states Portugal is the third most child-friendly place with pleasant weather, delish meals, and marvellous beaches.
Portugal was chosen as one of the ideal nations to travel with kids, following Turkey and Greece in second and first places. Greece ranked eight out of ten based on the score for baby-friendly travel in the data.

Furthermore, Portugal’s kid-friendly travel score is very good (7.45 out of ten) that’s quite close to Greece. Simultaneously, 49 % of all Portugal hotels according to the data provide a family room for those visiting with kids.

In terms of security, Portugal is second among the world’s top ten and exceeds the Czech Republic with a score of 74.48 against Portugal’s 70.37 security index. Among the observed nations, Also, Portugal has a higher safety index value than the average of the nations studied comprising Greece (59.68 out of 100).

Portugal’s average annual temperature is 15.2°C and the average rainfall recorded is 591mm per year. This makes it a preferred destination for kids considering their higher sensitivity to hot weather.

Tripadvisor shared data stating the count of kid-friendly activities in each country. It states that there are 2,589 kid-friendly activities in Portugal including Benagil Beach, São Rafael beach, and Lisbon Oceanarium.

In addition, Portugal has recently been awarded for being the “Best tourist destination in Europe” in the European edition of the World Travel Awards 2022. The country has been awarded this title five times in the last six years.

Tourist activities in Portugal surpassed the pre-pandemic levels with over 1.8 million travellers staying here in July alone.
Other data from “The National Institute of Statistics (INE)” also shows a registry of 600,000 more tourists as compared to the last year in the same month when COVID-19 restrictions were still applicable.
